How The Core-Tex™ Has Taken Balance, Stability
and Functional
Reaction to A Whole New Level
The
Core-Tex™ is the only device on the market that allows for movement in all
three planes of motion AND whose base translates at the same time. All other devices either work in all three
planes on a fixed axis with no translation OR translate in only one plane
(typically the frontal plane).
The
patented design of the Core-Tex™ allows the base to move like no other training
environment. This allows for an almost
infinite number of combination movements while working on the Core-Tex™.
The
Core-Tex™ encourages movement and change
of direction to maximize the integration of the body’s receptors from the foot
and ankle all the way up to neck, eyes and inner ears. This causes the body to react and respond
just as is required with real world activities and sports. All other balance devices on the market
strive for improved static stabilization.
The Applications
of the Core-Tex™ are exciting and the benefits exponential over other
devices. Anything that you can do on
another form of balance equipment, you can do on the Core-Tex™ with superior results.
With the
Core-Tex™ you can:
- Access a higher level of neuromuscular facilitation and
integration for both the athlete and the rehabilitating patient/client.
- Provide unique and advanced rehabilitation and performance
movements for the shoulder girdle and upper body.
- Functionally integrate the body’s core through a full
spectrum of available movements.
- Challenge the critical Righting Reflexes of the neck, eyes
and inner ear so important to humans in upright posture for orientating
ourselves to gravitational forces and accelerations of our center of gravity.
- Evaluate weight distribution, balance and balance shifts during
sport specific tasks.
- The
movements produced on the Core-Tex™ recruit the oblique myofascial connections
between the torso and opposite lower extremity that are the foundations of
functional movements (walking, running, throwing, lunging, etc.).
The
Core-Tex™ is being studied through the
biomechanics department of San Diego State University.
The research is being overseen by Dan Cipriani PhD. Doctor Cipriani has extensive experience in
biomechanical and orthopedic research and is one of the leading researches on scientific validity of commercially
available pieces of equipment.
Availability
The
Core-Tex™ is expected to be Available June
1st, 2008 and will include programming options and an optional handrail.
The
Core-Tex™ will be avaialbe to purchase from the Function First web site when production is complete.
