Zac's strong interest in exercise and the body began after a debilitating low back injury ended his nationally ranked tennis career at age 15. The ensuing years led him on a mission to solve the constant pain he endured. After seven years of experimenting with a myriad of health treatments, only Function First was able to bring him to recovery.
Zac's experience fighting pain and dysfunction gave him a passion to help others in similar situations. After several personal and educational experiences in the exercise and rehabilitation field, including a summer internship at T.H.E. Egoscue Method clinic in San Diego, Zac was given the unique opportunity to complete a 1000-hour internship under the training of Anthony Carey at Function First. Concurrent with this extensive hands-on training Zac enrolled at San Diego State University to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biomechanics.
Zac will graduate in Spring 2008 with his MA in Kinesiology at SDSU as well as his Registration in Kinesiotherapy (RKT). In addition to these credentials, Zac is a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise.
Some of Zac's other notable achievements include graduating Cum Laude from California Polytechnic State University of San Luis Obispo (2003), competing on the collegiate Cross Country and Track team at the University of California at San Diego where he ran the 800 meters event, and being one of only four tennis players to be named All-South-Orange-County during his freshmen year at Laguna Hills High School.
Away from helping people at Function First, Zac enjoys spending time with friends from his local church, hiking, reading, cooking, and playing piano. |
